Tour itinerary
A private driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech early in the morning to begin your desert tour through the High Atlas Mountains. You will cross the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass and pass a series of authentic Berber villages nestled on the foothills of the Atlas Mountains before arriving at the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where you will have the opportunity to visit and explore this magnificent cultural heritage site of Morocco with a local guide. After a short lunch break in Ouarzazate, we will continue towards the Draa Valley via Agdz. This is an essential starting point to dive into the heart of authentic Morocco and discover the remarkable desert oases and fortified kasbahs. Upon arrival in Zagora, you will enjoy a camel ride across the sand dunes before spending your first night in a traditional guesthouse.
Your driver will pick you up early after breakfast to continue your excursion through the Anti-Atlas Mountains toward Alnif. After lunch, continue your desert circuit toward Merzouga, where you will begin a camel trek to explore the magic of the Erg Chebbi dunes and admire a breathtaking sunset in the great desert. Return to camp to rest and have dinner in a warm, almost unique atmosphere with an animated Berber evening around the campfire. You will spend the second night in a nomad tent among the dunes of Merzouga.
Wake up early to enjoy the incredible sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga, with an uninterrupted view of the vast Sahara Desert. After breakfast, return to Alnif and continue towards the village of Tinghir, where you will enjoy a guided visit of the agricultural fields, discover the traditional irrigation systems used by local communities, and visit a handicraft workshop to admire the art of Berber carpet weaving. About 20 km beyond Tinghir, you will be amazed by the spectacular Todra Gorges and canyons, one of the most beautiful natural sites in the region. After a lunch break, continue your desert journey towards Boumalne Dades. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional Berber guesthouse.
After breakfast in your guest house, continue to discover the fabulous desert landscapes through Ifri, Kelaat Mgouna and Skoura.
A lunch break in Ouarzazate then departure to Marrakech where this large 4-day desert tour ends with a deposit at your hotel or Riad in Marrakech.
