Ouarzazate 2-Day Tour
Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Morocco," is a charming city located abou...
Essaouira was discovered by the Phoenicians, who settled there. It was later conquered by Rome and Portugal. Before the end of the 15th century, the Portuguese had built the commercial and military port of Mogador (today Essaouira). This port is located at the foot of the city ramparts. From the terrace of the North Bastion, you access the marquetry district where the finest artisans work cedar wood. Leaving the Skala, we follow Derb Laalouj street to the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah Museum, which houses a collection of musical instruments for local Andalusian songs, weapons, costumes, and more. Located in the north of the city is the Mellah, the Jewish quarter, which connects with the traditional Mohammed Zerktouni street. A market runs alongside it and extends to Bab Doukkala. Lunch: fish (Essaouira specialties) in a seaside restaurant. On the way, we pass through numerous argan tree fields, whose nuts are used to produce the famous Argan oil, used both in cooking and in cosmetics. You may also see goats climbing argan trees. We also visit a real women’s cooperative producing authentic Argan oil.
