Agadir Day Trip

Agadir

Trip description

Departure from Marrakech at 7:00 a.m. towards Agadir, the capital of the Souss region. The word "Agadir" is of Berber origin, derived from the Phoenician language, and means "collective granary" or "fortified village." Even today, the term remains in use throughout the Souss region to refer to a communal storage place where the tribe's valuable possessions and harvests were kept.

Leave behind the vibrant atmosphere of Marrakech and spend the day in one of Morocco's most famous seaside resorts. The tour begins with the breathtaking panoramic view over Agadir Bay from the medieval district of Kasbah Oufella. Perched at an altitude of 236 meters, this historic citadel offers spectacular views of the city and the Atlantic coastline.

After visiting the fishing port, enjoy a stroll along the beautiful Agadir Corniche, which stretches for approximately 10 kilometers along the beach. The excursion continues with a visit to the Valley of the Birds and an argan oil cooperative, where you can learn more about the food and cosmetic products made from Morocco's famous argan oil.

Following lunch, discover the history and culture of Agadir with a visit to the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions, featuring collections of ancient Berber jewelry, pottery, carpets, woodwork, and other traditional artifacts.

The final stop of this wonderful tour is a brief visit to the famous Souk El Had before returning to Marrakech.
